Topic I. Cultural tourism - making regions an experience

In the 21st century, promoting cultural heritage and regional identity means more than just conventional forms of advertising: towns, cities and regions rely increasingly on 360° communication. City brands and regional brands which communicate this way allow attention to be drawn to their cultural heritage while simultaneously promoting their identity both internally and externally. But how do cultural tourism regions make history authentic and experiential? How can the visitors themselves become part of this history and experience it with all their senses? How does it taste? How does it smell? How does it sound? How does it feel?
